I’ve been obsessed with proper BBQ since I was a kid growing up in New Zealand in the 70s. HAKA TABLE is where that obsession meets our distillery.
It’s made by ourselves using premium ingredients, in small batches at the distillery kitchen, not in a factory.
It’s built from molasses, tomatoes, garlic, our own special spice blend, and four kinds of fermented chillies, each aged for 6–7 months, before finishing with a reduction of our 2-star Great Taste Award winning HAKA Rum.
The result is deep, balanced umami, smooth warmth, and just the right amount of heat. No harsh burn. No gimmicks. Just serious flavour built sauce to be used, left on the table and not in a cupboard.
This is a premium sauce that earns its place on your table.
Use it on:
BBQ, ribs, wings, tacos, eggs, bacon, avocado, burgers, Tacos, steak, chicken, pork belly, pizzas, sandwiches and veg.
My favourite:
Sourdough toast, smashed avocado, bacon, and scrambled eggs finished with a generous drizzle of HAKA TABLE.

Made in our Great Taste award winning distillery using fermented chillies, molasses and HAKA Rum.
This isn’t a sauce you try once and forget about. It’s built to sit on the table and get used daily.

What it tastes like
Deep, rich & balanced, not just heat.
Roasted red peppers hit first with natural sweetness, followed by a steady build of 200+ day fermented chilli heat that spreads evenly. The middle brings real body. Tomato, dark caramel notes from molasses and date syrup, and a savoury depth from miso, mushroom and our own in house secret spice blend.
A light chipotle smokiness runs through it, controlled and deliberate. The finish is long and rounded, with bright gentle tang from organic vinegars, tamarind and warmth from the rum that lingers without burning out your palate.
Not sharp. Not vinegary. Not one-dimensional. It builds, holds, and finishes properly.
